BDU Classes

Never before has marketing been so closely tied to technology and never before in human history has technology evolved at such a rapid rate. This combination brings with it a lot of new and unique challenges for professionals with the marketing industry as well as the business world in general.

We provide current education and training for professionals and those looking to increase their knowledge of the changes in modern marketing. Our focus is on not only what is trending, but what is effective and realistic for today’s businesses. There is a constant barrage of information, new words, and terms assaulting our senses every day. We work hard to sort through all of this to distil what you really need for where you and your business might be. Our instruction is based on what we have found to work in real life situations. We are building a learning center for new technology and trends. Our trainers come from the trenches as it were and work with their subject matter in professional environments every day. They know what works and what is not panning out in the real world of business.

Social Media Overview 101

Our 90 minute course is for professionals looking to understand the broad scope of how social media marketing has developed, the various platforms available (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, etc.), how they can be effectively leveraged to market a business or individual, how all of this applies to Alaska marketing, and where the trends are going.

We will touch on how to build an online marketing strategy, an editorial calendar, and how to choose which platform is right for your business.

This class comes with a certificate of completion from Beacon Digital University (BDU) and takeaway course materials to facilitate your marketing strategy and editorial calendar.

Social Media Marketing 102

Bring your business page’s FB analytics, bring your filled out material from SMO 101 and learn how to put together your social media marketing, how to set goals, layout an editorial calendar, read Facebook analytics to see what is working and what is not and how to adjust your strategy.

You must have completed SMO 101 and have completed your target market profile. You will walk away with a certificate of completion from BMA and the tools to start your social media marketing campaign today upon finishing the two-hour class.

Facebook Intermediate 201

So you have a Facebook page for your business, now what? Learn tips and techniques for growing your likes, your engagement, promoting posts, and how to turn those fans and engagement into sales for your company. See some first-hand cases studies from real local businesses. What works? What doesn’t and why. We will cover what FB’s analytics can teach us and how we can use that information to our advantage. We will introduce contests, FB ads, promoted posts, etc. This is a two-hour class and reach participant who completes the course will receive a certificate.

Intro to LinkedIn 104

Are you wondering if LinkedIn is a good fit for you and your precious time? Wondering where to get started? Then this is a great class for you. We will take participants step by step through creating a LinkedIn account for themselves and getting fulling set up and functional in this professional social media platform. People are encouraged to bring their own laptops since they will be setting up their accounts while in class.  This is a two-hour class and those who complete the class will receive certificates and a new LinkedIn account.
